I wrote a story about the Forester Sisters of Lookout Mountain, Georgia earlier this year, and a lot of folks seemed to enjoy catching up with Kathy, June, Kim and Christy. It had been a while since they performed on stage, so I ended the story with the question many people ask: “Could there be more live shows?”
It wasn’t just me. Donna Morgan wrote, ” I love their music, they have so much talent. I hope they do get back to singing again!” Terri Church added, “We sure would love to see these girls do a show! Keep us posted!” That seemed to start an avalanche of love and support from Foresters fans who wanted to see and hear them harmonize again.
Well, guess what? These Georgia Music Hall of Famers are coming soon to a stage near you. Kim posted this message on Facebook last week:
“We will be doing three Christmas shows in December! Life is so busy and full for us all that we rarely perform live anymore, but we love this time of year so we decided to do a few Christmas shows in our area. Small, intimate venues were always our favorite places to play and there are some great ones here—an historic old opera house, a wonderfully restored movie theater, and a vacant, deteriorating church that was renovated into a beautiful facility—so we’re genuinely excited! Plus, this will really be a “family” show with our kids, etc. participating so we think it’s going to be really special. Tickets are $20 and seating is limited.

I will have the honor of introducing them at their Chattanooga show on December 17. I can’t believe it’s been thirty years since I first met them, and did a video story about them. Since they had that great run of hits, concerts and awards, they’ve raised families and achieved other goals, but the love of singing never went away.Christy told me, “We are looking forward to these shows! It’s been too long. We rehearsed today, and we just kinda look at each other and say, why don’t we do this more often?” She told me the Fort Payne theater has a wonderful stage and new curtains, courtesy of the Alabama band. I can tell you the Princess Theater in South Pittsburg is fabulous and perfect for a Foresters show. The Church on Main in Chattanooga is really special, according to Christy. “It will be much like singing when we got this whole thing started as girls,” she said. “It has great acoustics and a spiritual vibe.”
Now, the best part of all: in addition to the Fab Forester ladies, their now-grown-up kids will be singing too. What better way to celebrate Christmas than with the Foresters. I hope to see you there. Now, some bonus video that hasn’t been seen since 1987: Enoy!
