Here’s the video that brought my house down. Bruce Springsteen “Dancing in the Dark” with Jeanne Heintz, a 91-year-old fan who has reportedly seen about a hundred Springsteen live shows. Her daughter told reporters that Monday night’s show in St. Paul, Minnesota would likely be her last one, and if so, this is a great finale! The video below is about 7 minutes long. By comparison, here’s the other famous “Dancing” duet performed by the Boss, with then-unknown, 20-year-old Courteney Cox in her pre-“Friends” days. I remember thinking it was a spontaneous moment, because Courteney genuinely looked stunned. But it turns out, it was part of the act, and Courteney was (and is) a really good actress. I love this so much. Always loved the Boss and his music but he just went up in my eyes 1000% for being so kind to that little lady of 91 years young. As a longtime fan of his, I’m sure this was one of the highlights of her life. Bless him for understanding that even though we are getting older, we still need positive attention an kindness. Also love the old clip of the Boss and Courtney. Thanks again for all you share with us.
Courteney is from Birmingham and used to visit Baylor School and her boyfriend from the Magic City, Mark Styslinger, who was Baylor’s number one tennis player for four years. This was from around ’78 through ’82 or so. That’s what I’ve been told at least.
